Cricut Design Studio Software coming soon!
| It's finally here!!! Cricut Design Studio! For all of you that have a Cricut die cut machine, you've probably noticed the USB port on the back of the machine! We've talked about the probability of eventually being able to hook our Cricuts up to our computers. ProvoCraft, the maker of Cricut, just announced the release of Cricut Design Studio software. This is what they say about it: What You See Is What You Cut-with the simple click of a mouse! The Cricut DesignStudio™ software lets you take your Cricut™ creativity to a new exciting level! Use the software with your original Cricut or Cricut Expression machine and Cricut cartridges, and you'll open the door to untapped creative possibilities for virtually any project including: school projects, card making, home décor, scrapbooking, signage, and more! I already have the software ordered, along with SEVEN new cartridges!!! I'll keep you posted! | |

Okay folks - this has got my interest!! I can't wait to see this (I'm not sure I want to see the price, but, oh, well.). And the new Accents cartridge is calling , calling my name. Aaaagh! I need more money, more time....more time, more money!!
Thanks Sondra for keeping up with all these new and exciting things!

Here's an update:
The cartridges that are expected to arrive in October include: Doodletype & Locker Talk.
The cartridges that are expected to arrive in November include: Cuttin Up, Paper Doll Dressup, Stretch your Imagination & Joys of the Season.
The pens that work in place of the blade are expected to arrive in December.
And, the Design Studio software that will make your computer and Cricut talk -- although I don't have an expected arrival date yet -- is going to be only around $85! Wow!

Sondra - I'm trying to find out if the software will use my computer fonts WITHOUT buying all the cartridges??? Do you know the answer? Speedy reply is much appreciated!

Will this software work off of Windows Vista? I already pre-ordered it and it didn't say anything about which system it would work with.

If you look at http://www.provocraft.com/products/index.products.php?cl=cricut there is a table with the minimum and recommended system requirements.

Carrie -- there is after-market software that works with the Cricut that you can use True Type fonts with.
It's called Sure Cuts Alot. I've never used it so I cannot comment on how well it works but I think it has a free trial version that you can download.
Google "Sure Cuts Alot" or "Cricut Aftermarket Software" and you should be able to find their site.
